Egg Brake by Simkins Designs
These are very cool brake calipers! Matt Simkins of Simkins Designs has developed an aerodynamic brake caliper he calls the Egg Brake and they are the most interesting aero brake calipers on the market.
We are now carrying them and MSRP is $220 for one brake, $435 for pairs. The available colors are black, red, and silver. They are only made on order so get in touch with us and we can get them for you. Note, if you choose to Buy it Now, you get in line quicker if there are backorders, which happen often with these popular brakes.
The idea is to get the profile of the brake caliper and the cable inside the frontal profile of the bike frame. The photo below from their website (Photo: Chris Bailey) shows this quite well. Additionally for those frames that have the rear brake on the chainstay, this design will work very well.
