Editor's Choice: Parlee Dream Bike
After one year of business in our new store, KGS Bikes has a second mention in Bicycling Magazine, this time in the June 2007 issue which includes their Editor's Choice awards. We built a second show bike for Parlee which was the entrant in the Dream Bike category, the top award for road bikes. We were thrilled that the bike won the top honor and are so happy for Parlee.
The bike was built earlier this year and sent to Utah for the evaluation. The wait was excruciating and we didn't even know who the other contenders were, but eventually we received this issue in the mail and it was official.
We didn't do anything unusual in this bike build, just got the dimensional measurements from Parlee and built the bike. We did take a bunch of pictures which will be shown in some galleries on the site. This was the first bike we built after we installed the photo studio complete with white and black backgrounds.
Bicycling also found out about our new photo studio dedicated to great bicycle photography, and the owners of these incredible bikes. We are teaming with Greg Harrision, a local professional photographer, to provide a complete documentation of the bike buildup, then a showcase of the completed bike, special art pictures of the bike and it's parts, plus an optional portrait with the bike and it's owner, and an inaugural ride photo session. It is quite a process, and worthy of the beautiful works of art that come out of our studio.
We are showing scans of the magazine cover, the two pages of note in the magazine plus some cropped images. One can also download a higher resolution pdf of the Dream Bike mention here, and of the HubBub feature on our photo studio here. Thanks to Bicycling Magazine for noticing how hard we are working to improve the state of the art in road bicycles.
