Buildup: Griffen Vulcan Red, White & Blue, Robert

One of the best parts of working in a high-end bicycle store is the buildup of the best bikes. This Griffen Vulcan represents a "no compromise" choice of components. This gallery shows the levels of buildup resulting in a fantastic racing machine.
We used Oval Concepts A900 aerobars with the upgraded carbon armrests, extensions, and brake levers. We also used Nokon brake and shifter cables with housings to facilitate the tighter bends needed on a time trial bike. Note how we routed the shifter cables around the steerer tube and brought them together to the cable stops. This keeps the cables out of the wind as much as possible, and makes good use of the same-side routing that Griffen prefers over internal cable routing.
We used Campagnolo Record components with a Fizik Arione Tri saddle using braided carbon rails. The bike rides on Zipp 808 wheels, and they are turned by a Stronglight Pulsion crankset using FSA K-Force carbon wrapped chainrings.
This bike was also custom fitted to the owner using our Precision Laser fitting program, and with video analysis augmented by some test rides, the bike is now in service and ready to fly.
