The KGS / Parlee Z1 will be the last bike frame you will ever need. This bike will not let you down whether you use it for crit racing, climbing or back roads. As a bike that excels on every type of terrain, it is the one bike you will want to keep forever. No other frame takes as much time and skill to build. No other carbon frame looks this timeless or rides this beautifully. The Z1 differs from the Z2 or Z3 with a three piece custom seatstay. It refines the ride and gives it a more sophisticated feel.
Designed from the ground up for custom geometry, Z1s may be customized by 1mm and .1-degree increments to fulfill any custom design from 47cm to 65+ cm. Custom carbon fiber lug lay-up along with five tube set choices allows the Z1 to be perfectly optimized for each individual rider. We offer a fixed wheel option for track use or fixed wheel road riding, as well as updated geometry and additional stock and custom sizes, including an option for 650c wheels. Z1s can be built with semi-sloping geometry up to 3 degrees. Optional upgrades include the super light SL tube set, the extra stiff XL tube set, the X woven tube set and the compliant CL tubeset.
Z1 has been named Bicycling Magazine Editor’s Choice for Dream Road Bike. The Z1 was the first all carbon fiber bike to be awarded this prestiguous award. KGS Bikes built the actual bike that was awarded this honor.
All KGS / Parlee Z1's include custom tube selection and lug lay-up. Any color is possible and any paint design is possible. Email, call or Skype (kevingsaunders) us with your ideas and we can turn them into reality.
Positioning:
All KGS Custom Bicycles are designed around your true bicycle position. Our proprietary BalancePoint™ Positioning System is only available in San Antonio, in person. Once we know exactly where the saddle and handlebars are to be located, we draw the entire bicycle in CAD and the frame drawing is sent to Parlee for fabrication. When the frame is completed, we can then build the bike to the drawing and it is perfect.
